What does Gay Travel mean to me?

Many times I have been asked what does gay travel mean to me. Truth is that gay travel means everything to me. However, I go on Instagram and search #gaytravel and the top posts are shirtless guys occasionally IN beautiful locations and occasionally NOT. Gay Travel is not shirtless men with abs. I repeat GAY TRAVEL is NOT shirtless men with ABS. YES I want them. YES they make me feel insecure at times. YES they have a shit ton more followers. NO they do not represent gay travel.

The reason I got into the gay travel “space” is because I love being a storyteller. It is my innate personality to be inquisitive of others. Gay Travel is sharing the stories of others that may not be able to share themselves. Gay Travel is using my platform to eradicate homophobia and to bridge the gap between generations that may not understand labels. For a long time all I wanted was to be successful, but I didn’t put in the work. I would go to amazing conferences and yearn to sit at the cool kids table. I have learned that I don’t need to squeeze into a table, fit into a label, or have washboard abs to be a leader in gay travel.

Today what I want you to take away from this blog post is that hard work pays off, your body is beautiful JUST the way it is, and gay travel is so much more than shirtless men. What does gay travel mean to you? Drop a comment below.
